The J.Z. George boys tied for fifth and the Lady Jaguars were ninth at the North State 2A track meet held last Saturday at Winona High School.
The Jaguars finished with 48 team points. Northside High School won the boys division with 160 points, and Charleston was second with 143 points. M.S. Palmer came in third with 72 points, and O’Bannon was fourth with 57 points. Calhoun City tied J.Z. George with 48 points. Water Valley was seventh with 41 points, and Leflore County eighth with 38 points.
The Lady Jaguars had 25.5 points as Leflore County won the girls division with 111 points. East Union was second with 98.5 points, and Charleston third with 95 points. Calhoun City was fourth with 50 points, and Water Valley fifth with 47 points. Philadelphia and Northside tied for sixth with 38 points each, and O’Bannon was eighth with 35 points.
Only the top four from each event at North State qualify for the State 2A meet, which will be held Friday at Pearl High School.
