Irby Ralph Barrentine, Jr. age 76, of Carrollton passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at his home. He was born Feb. 28, 1948, in Greenwood to the late Irby Ralph Barrentine, Sr. and Minnie Elizabeth Bennett Barrentine.
Irby worked on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico until his retirement. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club and loved to fish whenever he got the chance. Irby served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971and earned the rank of corporal.
In addition to his parents, Irby was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Barrentine.
He is survived by two sisters, Louise Barrentine of Brandon and Catherine Stoker of Winona; one brother, Johnny Barrentine of Greenwood; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Kilmichael.
