The Region 4-3A all-district team has been announced, and the Winona High School team is well represented.
The WHS coaches have been recognized as Coaching Staff of the Year. The Tigers won Region 4 with a 3-1 record and are playing Aberdeen High School in the third round of the North 3A playoffs Friday at Winona.
Junior running back Yoshawn Hudson has been named the region’s Player of the Year. Hudson, who has missed the first two games of the playoffs with an ankle injury, has rushed for 1,196 yards and 19 touchdowns on 138 carries in the 10 games he has played in.
The members of the Region 4 Super 22 team are offensive tackle Neal Roberts, safety Jalon Oliver, athlete Landon Crawford, cornerback Jakorrius Harvey, linebacker Alejandro White and defensive tackle Antonio Young.
First and second teams were also chosen in the region. Making the first team from Winona are offensive tackle Fred Woods, kicker Ben Rosamond, center Deuce Campbell, wide receiver Ayden Johnson, wide receiver Dee Hudson, linebacker Tez Davis and defensive end Quincy Burt.
Selected to the second team are running back Tavarius Eden, cornerback Elijah Harbin, safety Elijah Butts, athlete Kentrell Crawford, linebacker Brayden Flowers, defensive tackle Jabari Jones and linebacker Dejuan McChristian.
