Holly Mims Rayesky, 40, passed away Friday, July 29, at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Hodges officiating.
Interment followed in Harmony Baptist Church cemetery in Carroll County.
Holly was born in Greenwood to William and Beverly Carroll Mims. She graduated from Pillow Academy and received her degree in nursing from Mississippi Delta Community College.
Holly worked as an RN at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in numerous capacities but most notably as the nurse manager in the Operating Room. She not only worked as a nurse at the hospital, but she considered nursing her ministry and assisted people in all walks of life.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenwood for most of her life. She loved her family, especially her son, William Joseph Rayesky. Her hobbies included attending football games, hunting, fishing, cooking, reading and photography.
Holly was preceded in death by her uncle Bobby Carroll, her grandparents, Herman and Mary Carroll and O. C. and Verna “Sissy” Mims.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Rayesky; a son, William Joseph Rayesky, her parents, Bill “Bill Willy” and Beverly Mims, and a sister, Mary Quinn Mims, all of Greenwood; her aunt and uncles, Jerry and Jeanette Carroll of Cruger and Bill Carroll of Itta Bena. She also is survived by a host of other cousins, extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Brad Carroll, Scott Carroll, Andrew Roberson, Randall Roberson, Dustin Jones, Marty Self, Randy Henderson, Lloyd Calder and Wayne Kinkennon.
