Winona Fire Department responded to reports of a fire breaking out at the Hitching Post Motel on Middleton Road on Tuesday.
Fire Chief Brad Mooneyham said an unknown driver of an 18-wheeler truck hit a power pole, pulled the power lines and caused the pole to fall over. The breaker on the pole broke out into flame once it hit the Hitching Post.
Mooneyham said that two fire engines and five firefighters responded to the scene after law enforcement had arrived.
There were no injuries, and the fire was put out in less than an hour. The driver, who left the scene before firefighters arrived, is still unknown, according to Mooneyham.
