We have certainly had our share of rain recently. There’s an old saying that “April showers bring May flowers.” If that’s the case, then in a few weeks, we should be inundated with flowers! We’ve certainly had our share of rain recently. And even though some may say we’ve received too much rain, isn’t it wonderful to know that God always gives us exactly what we need? All that we are and all that we have, comes from God. He is our Provider. God provides us clothes to wear, food to eat, a roof over our head, and even an umbrella to keep us dry. Big things, little things, and even things we take for granted, God provides. He provides light and warmth from the sun, the four seasons to enjoy, and as we mentioned earlier, God provides the rain that in turn helps bring life.
As the Bible says in Zechariah 10:1; “Ask for rain from the Lord at the time of the spring rain—The Lord who makes the storm winds; And He will give them showers of rain, vegetation in the field to each person.”
Isaiah writes in chapter 55 and verse 10; “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it produce and sprout, and providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater.”
Joel 2:23 says; “So shout for joy, you sons of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has brought down for you the rain, The early and latter rain as before.”
It’s so easy to get frustrated when the weather changes our plans. Let me encourage you, the next time you find yourself stuck inside during a rain, let the rain remind you of God’s faithful goodness and provision, and give Him thanks!
