Psalm 48:1-3, “1) Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain. 2) Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King. 3) In its palaces, God has made Himself known as a stronghold.”
What an awesome passage of scripture reminding us of the greatness of God! All you have to do is look around at the grandeur of Creation and you’ll realize the truth that God is great. Look around at the beauty of Autumn and the handiwork of God and you’ll realize the truth that God is great. And because God is great, as the Psalmist writes, God is greatly to be praised.
He is truly worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. And we should always praise God. In good times and bad, we should lift our voices up in praise to God. Because no matter the circumstances of life, nothing takes away from the fact that God is great.
When we find ourselves living in troublesome times, God is still great. In the deepest, darkest valleys of life, God is still great. Even when we look around and it seems like evil is prevailing, God is still great. God is still on His throne. God is still in charge. God still rules and reigns supreme. He always has and He always will. God is our eternal stronghold.
I pray the truth of God’s greatness encourages you today.
