On Feb. 25, Lodi-Minerva Volunteer Fire Department will be selling food and desserts at Mission Hope at 10 a.m.
Dorothy Coffey, one of the fire department’s organizers, said that the proceeds will “raise funds for the fire department,” which is not yet “in operation, [as they] are trying to get organized.”
The fire department is currently searching for “young men volunteers,” said Coffey, and meets every Monday at the beginning of each month at 6 p.m.
The volunteer fire department first obtained funding in the amount of $100,000 in 2019, through the collaborative efforts of Montgomery County District 3 Supervisor Willie Earl Townsend Jr. and State Representative Karl Oliver, according to previous reports.
Soup will be $3.50, combos will be $7.50, dessert will be $2, and water bottles will be $2 for a large bottle and $1 for a small bottle.
