Halleluiah He Arose!!
Our little log house was pushed to its seams and rafters on this day as we gathered to Praise Jesus and visit for a spell. We enjoyed all our children and their children, all fourteen grands plus one by heart, and once again this house and our hearts were overrun with all the noise, laughter, and so much love. I LOVE HOLIDAYS and this one was the grandest of all because we rejoiced in the truth that Jesus is alive!
Family gatherings always brings to mind of the Easters of yesteryears, our three children and Roy and me. I thought at the times of these celebrations that we were blessed, and we were, but look at us now. We have grown from five to twenty-three, that’s an addition of eighteen more to love on. I cannot even imagine or remember that I could have dreamed in our earlier years that we would be so blessed as to have multiplied all the additions to our small family then.
As our boys came in the back door yesterday and I waited, impatiently to love on them, I was once again taken aback as to how big they are or how small I am. I stand at a stately five feet even. These guys tower over me, even the youngest must stoop to give me cuddles. I KNOW it was just a very few years ago that I had to do the stooping to love on them.
We haven’t had a real Easter egg hunt for many years until our little girl came into our lives and it is so much fun to gather in our front yard and watch all the shenanigans once again. There were colored eggs EVERYWHERE, on tops of the shrubs, hidden in limbs of trees, underneath grass clumps and just laying on top of the open yard of green. And then over in the side of the yard there is a memory I will have imprinted into my heart and memory for a long time, Pawpaw is giving our oldest and first grandson a lesson in golf. Time repeats itself, always.
I’m sure your Easter was just as exciting and memory filled as ours and for that I say, “Hold on to those remembrances because they change so quickly.” By next year one of ours will be married with a new family adding to our clan and who knows maybe more because time hurries so fast. Time is one of the precious things we cannot stop or hold back and all we have are our memories so make them good ones.
