The Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit agreement between Winona Christian School and Winona Montgomery Consolidated School District is so much more than just an agreement! It is an incredibly special relationship that allows for us to expand opportunities for both schools and our students.
On Sept. 20, we had a special moment where we celebrated our Winona High friends at their second school home, WCS, where they come to campus to take English Composition I.
After learning the previous week that Tyler Lockhart committed to MSU, several staff members and our 6th grade PeeWee football players greeted the Comp 1 students on the front porch. Not only did we get to celebrate Tyler’s commitment, but Dr. Amy Land, Elementary Principal and English Comp I Instructor, introduced all of the students and their achievements to our 6th grader boys. We talked about the importance of academics and character alongside athletic performance.
Following this, WCS and Winona High Comp I students reflected on their lives and then wrote letters to 6th grade students with personal advice for them to consider as they grow.
We are so thankful for magical moments like these that allow us to really focus on the blessings God has given to us! We are grateful to WMCSD for sharing these precious students with us.
