There is another new face who recently joined the staff at the Winona Police Department.
Kimberly Crouch, 37 of Greenwood, has taken up the new position of Police Administrator.
Crouch said she heard about the Municipal Clerk position opening when she was at City Hall.
“I just went to pay my water bill and I heard about it,” Crouch laughed.
“I initially applied for the court clerk position and after the interview,” Crouch related her administration experience. She said she has “about 10 years of experience,” and that the police department “opened this new position after that interview” and accepted her for the new position as they hired Tracy Holcomb to be municipal clerk.
Crouch’s previous experience “comes from the medical field so the change for [her] is [that the department role] is more business-related. Police work, investigations, that’s all new to me,” said Crouch. “It’s something I will gain more knowledge about over time.”
Crouch said after graduating from high school at Carroll Academy in 2004, she attended Mississippi Delta Community College for a while. “Just for basic education,” she said.
Crouch said she worked as a pharmacy technician part-time from her junior year of high school and for several years after her graduation.
“As far as my administration experience, I worked at Delta Oncology out of Greenwood from 2015 to 2022, where I gained most of my experience,” said Crouch. “I initially started off as a receptionist and worked my way up to being administrative assistant/patient advocate along with other roles as well. Fortunately, in that position I followed alongside a great mentor, and learned a lot by observing and assisting her within the office.”
Crouch’s plan for her current position is “to motivate and uphold this department gracefully with organization, inspiration, good leadership and simply be one to make a difference.”
“I want to thank Chief Daniels for opening this position up along with Officer Kellie Fox. It’s a great honor to be a part of this team, and I’m looking forward to working alongside them and the other officers,” she said.
Crouch’s husband, Cody, is originally from Winona, and Crouch said that she has lived in both Greenwood and Winona with him since the beginning of their 17 year marriage. Crouch is the daughter of James and Tammy Hodges of Greenwood, and she has two children, Trey and Kady.
