On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 4, while conducting a traffic stop on Highway 35 North near Carrollton, Carroll County deputies discovered and confiscated roughly 115 grams of methamphetamine and 1 pound of marijuana. Deputies arrested 40-year-old Vanessa Dawn Horne and 45-year-old Casey Turner Sanders, both of Carrollton, on the scene.
Horne was charged with trafficking of methamphetamine and felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and was transported to and booked into the Grenada County Jail. Sanders was charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine, before being transported to and booked into the Leflore County Jail.
The investigation is still ongoing and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has advised that more charges may be made. Sheriff Clint Walker commended the deputies on their due diligence and their conduct during the investigation.
