Officials: Skeletal remains identified as missing Ole Miss student Jimmie 'Jay' Lee

Law enforcement has officially identified the skeletal remains discovered in Carroll County last Saturday as those of Jimmie “Jay” Lee, the missing Ole Miss student, who was active in the LGBTQ+ community that has not been seen since July 2022.

Human remains discovered in Carroll County; Investigation underway

On Saturday, Feb. 1, Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a rural part of Carroll County in response to a call from deer hunters who had stumbled across what appeared to be human remains. Deputies responded, secured the scene and notified the coroner who affirmed that the remains are human.
