On Saturday, March 23, at 5 p.m., a benefit will be held on behalf of Jackie Robertson-Sells at Mount Pera Missionary Baptist Church in Carroll County. Robertson-Sells is currently fighting Multi Myeloma, blood cancer, and all proceeds from the benefit will go to helping in the payment of her medical bills.
Jackie Robertson-Sells worked for 18 years as an emergency room secretary and is now supporting her family through her crafts. The program was designed by Levonne Robertson-Smith, sister of Robertson-Sells, Mary Rias, close friend, and Reverend Robert Williams of Mount Pera Missionary Baptist Church. The program, hosted by Carla Lawrence, will consist of many local gospel groups, choirs, and soloists. Robertson-Smith and Robertson-Sells wish to raise awareness for Multi Myeloma and note that March is the month of recognition and awareness for blood cancer.
Robertson-Smith states, “Jackie’s a strong faith believing person. She believes in the Almighty God. Her faith in Him is what has kept her going.”
In addition, she said, “[Jackie has] always been a caregiver and a giving person, willing to give her last.”
Family and friends of Robert-Sells are hoping for community support in the benefit and are looking forward to the generosity of the community. Those who wish to donate to Robertson-Sells cause can contact her sister Levonne Robertson-Smith at
