Throughout the month of October, teens can come by the Winona Public Library to participate in TeenTober events. This week’s activity is an “I Spy” bookcase. Remember the I Spy books, the ultimate seek-and-find activity books? We have created our own version of “I Spy” in a bookcase. Can you find everything on our list? Complete this activity for a free book and a chance to win the big prize to be given away after the end of the month.
Next week’s activity is to complete a library scavenger hunt called “Explore Your Library.” There are five different small sections to complete. The scavenger hunt is an easy and fun activity, but we will be glad to point you in the right direction if anyone needs help.
The library is also having a book character pumpkin decorating contest. This activity is open to all ages! All you need to do is pick your favorite book character and decorate a pumpkin to look like them. Drop your pumpkin off at the Winona Library by October 25. The top 3 pumpkins will win some goodies!
Several months ago, a beautiful watercolor print, “Reared Against the Sky,” by Winona native Joe Townsend, was presented to the Winona library by Patsy Sykes Hayward. The Friends of the Winona Library were so gracious to have it framed for us. It is now hanging in the library meeting room. I would like to thank Patsy for her generosity and the Winona Friends organization as well.
