Mr. Elliott was born on Sept. 29, 1933, in Eden, to the late L J and Estelle Sanford Elliott. He married his lifelong love, Cleo Millwood, on June 2, 1957. For 67 years they lived a life full of love, laughter, worship, commitment, and doting on their family.
Charles, a man of quiet strength and faith, was a proud and loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was always loyal to friends and always willing to help in any way he could. In his younger years, when he wasn’t working or on a construction mission trip, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served his country in the US Army, being honorably discharged in 1963. He was very active in his church, North Carrollton Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and serving on the board of Mission Hope in Winona.
His work life included over the years: Deputy for Holmes County Sheriffs Department, Medart Locker, electrician for Parker Electric and M&S Electric, and finally owning his own business, Elliott Electrical Services.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cleo Millwood Elliott; and sister, Edith McCaleb Lindsay (Peck).
He is survived by his sons, Charles Elliott, Jr. of Carrollton, and Paul Elliott (Gail) of Clarksdale; daughter, Donna Peavy (Ben) of Richland; grandchildren, Jake Elliott (Kelly), Mandy Willard (Dylan), Justin Elliott, Mason Peavy, and Sarah Peavy; great grandchildren, Kady Elliott, Charles Owen Elliott, and Ellie Willard; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family expresses special thanks to Accent Care Home Hospice, especially Jeremy Byford, RN; Jacy Herod, Hospice Aid; and chaplain, Trey Miller.
