Carroll County School District will be holding an election for two seats this year. The Districts Three and Four seats on the school board, currently held by William Downs and John Phillips respectively, will be up for election.
The positions will be open to any qualified candidates residing within the represented districts. The requirements to qualify for the election are as follows. The candidate must be an active voter in the district they wish to represent. Any candidate must have a minimum of two years of residency within the district. In addition, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent education. Finally, the candidate will be required to complete a training course for the position within six months of being elected.
Prior to running for the position, candidates must complete the necessary qualification paperwork. Qualification packets will be located at the Circuit Clerk’s Office in the Vaiden Courthouse and at the Carrollton Courthouse. The window for qualification spans from August 7 to September 6 at 5 p.m.
