The Jaguars of J.Z. George are still searching for their first win of the 2018 season and will face an old region foe as they head to Maben to take on the Wolverines of East Webster High School.
Kickoff is set for Friday at 7 p.m.
The Jaguars dropped to 0-5 with a 36-8 loss to Holly Springs last week at Farris Jenkins Field. They scored their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter as freshman running back Deriaun Townsend scored on a 70-yard run. He also had the 2-point conversion.
Townsend finished with 109 yards rushing on 11 carries. Senior quarterback Malik Christian ran for 49 yards on 14 carries.
Through five games, J.Z. George has been outscored 152-58. In their last three games against Water Valley, Union and Holly Springs, the Jaguars have only scored 26 points and yielded 107.
East Webster plays in Region 2-2A, the same division J.Z. George was in before moving up to Class 3A. The Wolverines are only 2-3 but have won two of their last three games. East Webster downed Strayhorn 46-0 last week, rebounding from a 51-0 loss to Starkville Academy two weeks ago.
The Wolverines beat Smithville 28-13 in Week 3, and opened the season with losses to Choctaw County (42-13) and Okolona (35-26), which is the one common opponent between the two teams. Okolona beat the Jaguars 19-14 to open the season.
The Jaguars begin Region 3-3A play next week as they entertain Ruleville High School.
