Rev. Ed Saunders reported that Sunday, Carrollton and North Carrollton United Methodist Church will present their Christmas Cantata at 5p.m. The service will be held at Carrollton United Methodist Church. There will be a time of fellowship following the service in the fellowship hall. The theme is “What Child is This?” Coming next week, we will have information on Carrollton Baptist Church, Carrollton Presbyterian Church and North Carrollton Baptist Church’s upcoming Christmas Cantatas. The Carroll County area has a long tradition of wonderful Christmas Cantatas in worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Christmas decorations are going up here in the Carroll County area, and they sure look good in time for the 2017 Christmas Parade Saturday. The towns of Carrollton/North Carrollton parade will begin Saturday at 3p.m.This year’s theme is “The Magic of Christmas.”

In other news, Lottie Moon Christmas Mission Offerings are the entire month of December. One hundred percent of what you give goes to missionaries and provides for the work God has given them to do.
This past Sunday, during the morning worship service at North Carrollton Baptist Church, the special music was a congregational hymn, "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone." The music was led by Bro. Wilton Neal.
In government news, Beat 5 Supervisor Rickie Corley reported that the Carroll County Board of Supervisors will have their first regular monthly meeting for December on Monday at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse in Vaiden. The board has regular meetings on the first Monday and last Monday of each month, and these meetings are open to the public. Supervisor Corley is the board president, and Beat 4 Supervisor Claude Fluker is the vice-president.
On Tuesday, the North Carrollton Mayor and Board of Alderman will have their regular monthly meeting for December. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The board meets the first Tuesday of each month, and these meetings are open to the public.
