The J.Z. George baseball team fell to 0-4 with losses to Ethel 14-1 and Yazoo County 16-4.
The Jaguars were hitless against Ethel. In the Yazoo County game “We didn't play terrible. We just didn't play great,” said Coach Wylie Rhodes.
Robert Pridgen, Josh Wiggins and Josh Johnson had hits against Yazoo County.
“Our biggest problem is that we have started the season off playing such good teams.” Rhodes said. “We have played Ethel twice and just two years ago, they played for the state championship. Yazoo County will most likely win their district (Region 3-3A).”
After taking off for Spring Break, the Jaguars will return to the diamond with a home game March 20 against Charleston. “We'll have a nice long practice the day we get back,” Rhodes said.
