A Greenwood man has been arrested in connection with three burglaries in the southwestern part of Carroll County.
Cedric Allen Terry, 33, of Greenwood was arrested and charged with three counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling and felony fleeing.
According to Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker, on Wednesday, May 16, around 11:30 a.m. a Carroll County deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle and attempted to pull it over. The driver did not stop and fled from the deputy from Highway 430 near Acy’s store into a neighborhood located off of Highway 49 south in Leflore County.
“He pulled into a cul-de-sac, and jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot,” Walker said. “A Carroll County deputy and a Leflore County deputy pursued the suspect 300 yards on foot before taking him into custody.”
Walker said inside the white van he was driving, there were CDs, chain saws, weed eaters, and various other items that appear to have been stolen from three homes in the Acy store area.
Walker said more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
