The season may be over, but Individual honors for the Winona football team following the Tigers' MHSAA Region 2-2A championship and playoff run to the state championship game are pouring in.
Senior quarterback Jatyler Moore was named as the region's offensive player of the year and junior linebacker Jalen Campbell was the defensive player of the year.
Moore ran and passed for 2,836 yards and 40 touchdowns. Campbell had more than 100 tackles. He also started on offense at running back. Moore was also chosen by the Mississippi Association of Coaches as second team all-state for 2A and Campbell was honorable mention at linebacker.
Also chosen for the all-region team on offense were junior guard Laderrious Davis and junior wide receiver Chris Olton. Defensive all-region players are senior end Jonathan Ables and senior linebacker Kaleb Hicks.
Players chosen for all-region second team on offense are junior tackle Jacob Welch, junior center Tilor Chapman, junior slot receiver Jay Lofton and junior wide receiver Ahmad Robinson. Making the second team defense were senior linebacker J.T. Townsend, junior safety Garrett Ables and sophomore nose tackle Saveon Gross.
Welch and Hicks were named to the 2A all-state second team and Campbell, Jonathan Ables and Olton were honorable mention.
