The Carroll Academy baseball team won one of three games this past week.
After a 7-4 win over Benton, the Rebels lost 12-0 to Pillow and 6-4 to Calhoun.
Carroll will return to action this week as they host Oak Hill on Tuesday and travel to West Point on Thursday. The Rebels will then play at Calhoun Academy on Saturday.
Carroll 7, Benton 4
The Rebels used a trio of two-run innings and took a three-run win over the Raiders last week.
Carroll scored two in the first, third and sixth innings with another score in the fifth. Benton scored one in the first and fourth and two in the sixth.
Carroll had six hits and took advantage of five errors by Benton. James Nell had two hits, including a double for the Rebels while Zach Downs also had a double. Gavin Wiltshire, Crawford Holly and Lofton Holly also had singles.
Lofton Holly pitched four innings and gave up two unearned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two. Downs finished out the game with three innings pitched, giving up two runs on one hit and three walks.
Pillow 12, Carroll 0
The Mustangs only needed 3 1/2 innings to dispatch the Rebels on Tuesday.
Pillow scored one in the first and 11 in the second as they had six hits and took advantage of six errors by the Rebels.
Carroll had two hits, singles by Logan Taylor and Dane Greenlee.
Greenlee got the start on the mound and pitched 2 1/3 innings as he gave up 12 runs with only one earned on six hits and three walks. Zach Downs pitched the final 2/3 of an inning without giving up a run or hit.
Calhoun 6, Carroll 4
The Rebels committed five errors and gave up only three earned runs in a two-run loss to Calhoun last week.
Calhoun scored two in the first and fifth with single runs in the second and seventh. Carroll scored single runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings.
Carroll had seven hits as Dane Greenlee had two hits including a double. Logan Taylor, Gavin Wiltshire and Brett Harper each had a single and scored a run while James Neill and John Marc O’Cain each singled. Lofton Holly also scored a run.
Maddox Carpenter pitched two innings and gave up three unearned runs on one hit and one walk while striking out two. Lofton Holly pitched the last five innings, giving up three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six.
