The executive committee of the Mississippi High School Activities Association has voted to push the fall sports seasons by two weeks. Football practice can begin on Aug. 17 with scrimmages between two teams (no jamborees) and the actual season beginning on Sept. 4. There will be no changes in the football playoffs or championship dates.
In essence, each school will lose the playing dates for Aug. 21 and Aug. 28 off its original schedule.
Cross-Country and volleyball practices will begin on Aug. 10 with competition permitted beginning on Aug. 24.
