Mississippi Civil Air Patrol SER-MS-057, Golden Triangle Composite Squadron, out of Columbus, led the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony on December 15, 2018, at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael. National Wreaths Across America Day, held the third Saturday in December, has a mission to remember, honor and teach through a coordinated wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. According to Cemetery Director Mark Lawson, Capt. Margaret Middleton led the efforts Saturday. Lawson said 75 attended the ceremony, laying wreaths on 46 gravesites. “I would like to thank all in attendance for their participation,” Lawson said. “As long as we continue to speak the names of the fallen, they will never be forgotten.” Above: Kilmichael Mayor Bobby Howell lays a wreath on a gravesite during Saturday’s ceremony.
