Believing that it is truly more blessed to give than to receive, on December 5th members of Carroll Academy's Student Council Association, sponsored as the Douglas Carroll Junior American Citizens by Third Arrow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, presented a check for $2,000 to Child Life Services at Mississippi's Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital. They also held a Christmas Event for the children hospitalized there hosting a visit from Santa Claus, writing their letters to Santa, playing Christmas games, and helping them decorate a special Christmas tree for the lobby. Members of the academy's Beta Club joined them and delivered over 10 boxes of toys for Santa. Santa, Frosty the Snowman, and a group of elves handed out prizes and Christmas stockings filled with toys. The stockings were hand made by the Women on Missions from North Carrollton Baptist Church and the toys and other gifts were made possible by love offerings from local churches. This was indeed a true community effort from the Carrollton area.
