It was a rough week for the Carroll Academy basketball teams, coming away with just one win in six contests.
The Lady Rebels lost two of three games, falling 34-24 to Oak Hill and 36-25 to North Delta while beating Indianola 47-35.
The Rebels lost all three games, falling 69-50 to Oak Hill, 55-51 to North Delta and 50-45 to Indianola.
Carroll is scheduled to make up a contest on Monday at noon at Canton when then be off until Feb. 1 when they begin play in the district tournament.
Oak Hill girls 34, Carroll 24
The Lady Raiders opened up an early lead and cruised to a 10-point win over the Lady Rebels on Tuesday night.
Oak Hill jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the first period and then outscored the Lady Rebels 4-2 in the second and led 18-6 at the half. Oak Hill took the third period 9-7 while Carroll outscored the Lady Raiders 11-7 in the fourth for the final margin.
Carlie Hoover led Carroll with 12 points while Katherine Mullins and Makenzie Reeves each had four points. Olivia Whitworth also had eight rebounds.
Oak Hill won the junior high girls game 34-32 as Navaeh Wolfe led the Lady Rebels with 23 points, 10 rebounds and six steals.
Oak Hill boys 69, Carroll 50
The Raiders outscored the Rebels in every period and cruised a 19-point win in district play.
Oak Hill led 16-13 at the end of the first period and then outscored Carroll 12-4 in the second period tolled 28-17 at the half. Oak Hill continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Carroll 21-15 in the third and 20-18 in the fourth.
Owen Garrett led Carroll with 15 points.
Oak Hill boys won the junior high game 35-15 as Cole Beckwith ld the Rebels with nine points.
North Delta girls 36, Carroll 25
The Lady Wave took the lead in the second period and held on to take an 11-point win over the Lady Rebels.
Each team scored six points in the first period before North Delta took the second period 12-4 to take an 18-10 lead at the half. Carroll took the third period 7-4 before North Delta finished by outscoring the Lady Rebels 14-8 in the fourth to take the win.
Olivia Whitworth led Carroll with 10 points while Carlie Hoover had seven points. Madelyn Singleton had nine rebounds while Ann Shelby Whitworth also had eight rebounds.
In the junior high game, North Delta won 28-23 as Nevaeh Wolfe had 12 points and five rebounds while Baily Daves had 11 points and five rebounds.
North Delta boys 55, Carroll 51
The Wave built an early lead and held off the Rebels to take a four-point win.
North Delta outscored Carroll 15-12 in the first and 14-10 in the second to lead 29-22 at the half. Carroll then outscored North Delta 12-8 in the third to cut the lead to 37-34 going to the fourth. But North Delta held on and outscored Carroll 18-17 to take the win.
Owen Garrett led Carroll with 16 points while Reed Thomas had 14 points. Nathan Matthews also had 12 points.
In the junior high game, North Delta won 44-31. Cole Beckwith led Carroll with 14 points.
Carroll girls 47, Indianola 35
The Lady Rebels used a stead offense to take a 12-point win over the Lady Rebels.
Carroll outscored Indianola 11-9 in the first and 11-8 in the second to lead 22-17 at the half. Indianola took the third period 13-11 while Carroll finished by outscoring the Lady Colonels 14-5 in the fourth to take the win.
Carlie Hoover led Carroll with 18 points and six steals. Makenzie Reeves had nine points and seven rebounds while Madelyn Singleton had eight points and 14 rebounds.
In the junior high game, Carroll won 32-4 as Bailey Daves had nine points and Nevaeh Wolfe added seven points.
Indianola boys 50, Carroll 45
The Colonels started strong in each half and held on to take a five-point win.
Indianola led 12-8 at the end of the first period while Carroll took the second period 18-16 to cut the lead to 28-26 at the half. Indianola took the third period 8-5 to extend its lead while each team scored 14 points in the fourth for the final margin.
Reed Thomas led Carroll with 20 points while Cohen Blaylock had 11 points.
Carroll won the junior high game 31-18 as Cole Beckwith had 14 points and Landon Acy added 13 points.
