It was another tough week for the Carroll Academy softball team.
The Lady Rebels dropped a pair of games to Winston Academy, losing 13-3 on Monday and Tuesday to fall to 0-14 on the season.
Carroll will return to action this week in the Carroll Tournament on Saturday.
Winston 13, Carroll 3
The Lady Patriots scored the last nine runs of the game and took a five-inning, run-rule win on Monday.
Winston scored two runs in the first and third innings while Carroll scored one in the second and two in the third to cut the lead to 4-3. But Winston pulled away as they scored five in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Winston outhit Carroll 10-6 in the contest. Kenzie Reeves led Carroll at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Audrey Woods was also 3-for-3 and scored a run for the Lady Rebels. Layla Neese also had two walks and scored a run.
Kaylyn Wiltshire took the loss, pitching 3 2/3 innings as she gave up nine runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out three. Reese pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on two hits and three walks.
Winston 13, Carroll 3
The Lady Patriots got off to a fast start and took another run-rule win over the Lady Rebels on Tuesday.
Winston scored seven runs in the first inning and added four in the third and two in the fourth. Carroll scored two in the third and one in the fifth.
Carroll had seven hits in the contest, led by Audrey Woods who was 2-for-3 and scored run. Emma Matthews doubled while Natalee Mitchell tripled and scored run. Layla Neese also singled, scored run and had an RBI while Kenzie Reeves singled and drove in a run. Naveah McCrory also had a single for Carroll.
Kaylyn Wiltshire pitched just one inning and gave up seven runs on three hits and six walks while striking out two. Layla Neese pitched the next three innings and gave up six runs on seven hits and four walks.
