The Carroll Academy baseball team split a pair of games with Calhoun Academy last week.
The Rebels dropped an 11-6 decision to Calhoun on Tuesday but then bounced back and beat the Cougars 13-1 on Thursday.
Carroll, now 3-5 on the season has a doubleheader with Benton Academy on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.
Calhoun Academy 11, Carroll 6
The Cougars pulled away late and took a five-run win over the Rebels on Tuesday.
Carroll opened with three runs in the top of the first while Calhoun answered with four runs. Carroll added three more runs in the third while Calhoun scored single runs in the second, third and fifth and led 7-6. Calhoun then scored four runs in the sixth to take the win.
Calhoun outhit Carroll 7-6 in the contest and the Rebels committed five errors and issued nine walks. Reid Blaylock was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI while Hayes White had a two-run home run. Parker Daves singled and drove in two runs while Reed Thomas walked twice and scored two runs.
Ethan Mims started on the mound and pitched four innings, giving up seven runs on four hits and eight walks while striking out five. Thomas pitched the last two innings and gave up four runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two.
Carroll Academy 13, Calhoun 1
The Rebels banged out 12 hits and crossed to a four-inning, run-rule win over the Cougars on Thursday.
Calhoun scored one in the first while Carroll scored four in the first and three in the second, third and fourth innings.
Carroll outhit Calhoun 12-3 in the contest. Reed Thomas was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs while Tyler Brooks was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Ethan Mims was 2-for-2 with three runs scored while Reid Blaylock singled, scored two runs and had four RBIs. Jake Truitt and Austin Mims each singled, scored a run and had an RBI.
Hayes White started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits and a walk.
