Carroll County’s Board of Supervisors approved funding for repairs and painting on the old county jail and the Sheriff’s office in a meeting on Monday.
Sheriff Clint Walker said the repairs would consist of painting the back of the Sheriff’s office and the re-roofing of the old red jail. He also said he got quotes for the repairs, and the amount of $4,000 was the lower bid.
Beat Five Supervisor Rickie Corley made the motion to approve the distribution of funds for the repairs, and Beat Three Supervisor Edward Dill Tucker seconded the motion with no opposition.
In other board news:
● The board agreed to pay for the administrative offices of the Circuit and Chancery courts, along with a service contract with Midsouth Copier Systems and Vaiden Courthouse’s Terminix contract. Corley made the motion, and Tucker seconded, with no opposition.
● Chancery Clerk Casey Carpenter spread several items for next week’s March 6 meeting, including: Election Commissioners’ Certificate of Training for 2023, the county road improvement list, Federal Financial Report and Request for Advance or Reimbursement to Rebel Road, and the support letter for Carrollton Pilgrimage and Pioneer Day Festival to be held on Oct. 6 and 7 of 2023.
