The family of Billy Malcolm Hunt is saddened to announce his passing on December 22, 2025 at the age of 83.
He was born at Ackerman MS. Billy will be well remembered by his wife of 59 years, Cheryl Kay (White) Hunt, his sister, Betty Joyce (Hunt) Jardine, Moss Point, MS, S-I-L Victoria (Vickie) Lynn (Ridgeway) Hunt, Fountain Hills, AZ, grandchildren, Allison Marie Haug, Samantha Kay Haug, Ethan Forrest Haug, Abigail Renee Haug and Tyler James Hunt, nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and friends.

Students in The University of Southern Mississippi’s Honors College expanded their academic experience this year through eight faculty-led educational trips across the country, as part of the College’s required two-semester Honors Colloquium sequence.
