Romans 15:13; “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
On the first Thursday in May, May 1st, as a nation we will observe the “National Day of Prayer.” This is an annual day of observance where believers go boldly before God’s throne of grace, offering up prayers of intercession on behalf of our nation. This year will mark the 74th annual “National Day of Prayer.” Our theme this year is, “Pour Out to the God of Hope and be Filled,” a theme based on Romans 15:13. As believers, we are encouraged to pour out of ourselves through prayer to the God of all hope. And as we pour out our burdens and concerns regarding our nation, our God of hope will answer our prayers and fill us with all joy and peace in believing. Each year, we pray for seven specific areas of influence in our nation: 1) Church, 2) Family, 3) Education, 4) Business/Workplace, 5) Military, 6) Government, and 7) Arts, Entertainment, & Media. This year as we pray, we will be praying that God would fill us with specific things that corelate with each area of influence. You are invited to join us in prayer at the Montgomery County Courthouse, Thursday, May 1st, at 12:00 Noon. Together, let’s lift our nation up in prayer and ask God to pour out His power and presence upon our land. Let’s ask God for an old-fashioned, Holy Ghost revival to spread across our land for HIS honor and HIS glory.
If you cannot join us in person on Thursday, May 1st, let me encourage you at noon that day to spend some time in prayer wherever you may be. To learn more about the National Day of Prayer, just visit the following website, www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
