Firefighters and citizens of Vaiden fought blazes from two separate fires last weekend.
On Jan. 6., a fire ignited in grass near Mulberry Street behind Dollar General near a home, Mayor Stella Washington Bell said.
“We’re not sure how the fire started,” said Washington Bell. “We think someone threw out a cigarette butt.”
