Winona volleyball’s historic season ends in playoffs

The Winona High girls volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Booneville High School in the second round of the MHSAA State 3A playoffs last week. Booneville won the sets 25-23, 25-18 and 25-22.

Winona finished with a record of 16-9, its best in its five years of existence.

WHS advances in State 3A; JZG ends season with win

The Winona High School girls volleyball team opened play in the State 3A Tournament last Saturday with a convincing three-set win over Rosa Fort in the first round.

The Lady Tigers (16-8), who earned their first-ever playoff win in girls volleyball, won the sets 25-4, 25-5 and 25-10.
