WCS, CA athletes in MAIS All-Star game

Winona Christian and Carroll Academy each placed one player on in the MAIS All-Star football game.
The Stars played lineman Landon Wilson in the Class 1A-2A-3A game while Carroll put Drew Haddon in the 4A-5A-6A game.
Both games will be played on Friday at Jackson Prep.

Beck breaks school record

Carroll Academy’s junior guard Noah Beck broke a school record with a 52-point performance as the Rebels defeated Deer Creek 81-56.
Carroll coach Stephen Crenshaw said it was a performance for the ages for Beck.

Jaguars split games in tourney

The J.Z. George Thanksgiving Classic wrapped up last Saturday as the host school played Grenada High School.
The Lady Chargers claimed a 62-16 win as they led 20-1 after one, 46-12 at the half and 58-16 after the third.

Tigers fall in third round

Winona High School’s bid for an elusive state championship came to a halt as North Panola knocked off the Tigers 52-20 in the third round of the North 3A playoffs last Friday night in Sardis.
The Tigers end their season with an 11-2 record, while the Cougars (10-1) advance to play Amory in the North State title game Friday night.
