Winona Christian and Carroll Academy each placed one player on in the MAIS All-Star football game.
The Stars played lineman Landon Wilson in the Class 1A-2A-3A game while Carroll put Drew Haddon in the 4A-5A-6A game.
Both games will be played on Friday at Jackson Prep.

The Rebels also landed one player in the Class 4A-5A-6A All-star football game in lineman Drew Haddon.
Haddon was a two-year starter for the Rebels on the offensive and defensive lines.
“I thought Drew was our leader, especially up front,” Carroll coach Bo Milton said. “He practiced hard every week and played hard every week and did the best he could do to make us a good football team. We moved up to Class 4A and the competition was really good. But we still ran for more than 2,000 yards and he is one of the reasons why.”
Milton said is players like Haddon that have made the Rebels playoff football teams the last three season.
“I thought he had a good year and I’m sure he wished he could have had a better year,” Milton said. “He is the type of kid that would have traded the all-star game for a chance to play for another state championship. I leaned heavily on him, and he took a lot of butt chewings from me because I knew that he could take it. He wanted to be as good as he could be, and I think we got everything we could get out of him. He started both ways for us the last two years and the all-star game is a well-earned honor for him.”
The Class 4A-5A-6A all-star football game will be played on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Jackson Prep.
Winona Christian
The Stars landed one player on the MAIS Class 1A-2A-3A All-star football team in Landon Wilson.
Wilson was a three-year starter for the Stars at center.
“I would say that Landon was one of the really bright spots for us this season,” WCS coach Junior Graham said. “He never played defense before and had to play over there this year and had a good year at defensive end. He was a really solid player for us. He has snapped a lot of snaps at Winona Christian.”
Graham said he didn’t see Wilson being a center to start his sophomore year.
“He didn’t start at center for us,” Graham said. “As a 10th grader, we never dreamed he would be our center. About two games into the season, he was our center and he just hung in there. This year, he had to learn how to play fatigued and I thought he did a good job of that.:
