Carroll, Winona head into postseason

Both Carroll Academy and Winona Christian are gearing up to enter postseason play this week.
Both teams split a pair of games last week as Carroll beat Winona 4-1 on Monday and then lost 10-2 to North Delta. After losing to Carroll, Winona hammered Indianola 16-3 in their other contest last week.

But on Friday night, Greenville St. Joseph had better skilled players.
The Irish used the big play to take a 46-8 halftime lead and cruise to a 52-16 win over the Rebels to open district play on Friday night.

Lady Jaguars outmatch Marks Palmer

The J.Z. George girls’ volleyball team picked up its first win of the season on Sept. 15 as the Lady Jaguars defeated Marks Palmer High School 3-1.
The Lady Jags (1-7 overall, 1-1 in district) lost the first set, 26-24, but won the next three to take the match. They took the sets, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18.
