The Winona High School cross-country team competed in the Northwest Rankin Cougar Invitational last Saturday in Flowood.
For the boys, Aidan Windham placed 37th overall in the 5,000-meter event with a time of 23:47.20. Thomas Rosamond was 45th in 24:19.90, and Nathan Henson was 49th in 24:29. Riley Windham was 59th in 25:12.30, and Ahmaud Seawood was 70th in 27:25.
Bryce Kilcrease was 77th in 28:40.10, and Ben Rosamond was 80th in 29:57.80. Ledger Ragland came in 82nd in 31:25.20, and Dawson Nix was 94th in 37:14.70. Macorey Trotter was 95th in 37:21.
For the girls, who also ran in the 5,000-meter event, Anna Beth Walton was 31st in 30:39.30. Amy Coburn was 32nd in 30:41.90, and Merry Coburn was 50th in 34:35.70. Bailey Holly came in 52nd in 35:12.20, and Bella Durham was 60th in 36:37.30.
Winona also competed in the French Camp Invitational on Sept. 10. Aidan Windham had the best showing at No. 23 with a time of 21:40.30. Thomas Rosamond was 26th in 22:06.94, and Riley Windham was 43rd in 23:00.35. Henson was 49th in 23:32.44, and Ragland was 55th in 23:51.79. Kilcrease was 76th in 25.59.05, and Ben Rosamond was 88th in 27:45.74. Nix came in 94th in 28:48.52, and Trotter was 99th in 31:08.08.
For the Lady Tigers, Walton was 34th in 28:26, and Amy Coburn was 35th in 28:37. Merry Coburn was 45th in 29:42, and Holly was 59th in 32:11. Durham was 74th in 34:54.
Winona will compete in the MC/Watson Ford Invite on Oct. 15 in Clinton.
