The Winona High School girls and boys track teams swept the Division 3-3A meet on April 14.
The Lady Tigers were first with 145 points, while Humphreys County came in second with 95 points. In the boys’ division, Winona finished with 124 points. Ruleville placed second with 87 points, and Humphreys was third with 52 points.
The Region 2 meet was held Tuesday at Winona High School. The top four in each event from district advanced to the region meet.

Winona tennis
The Winona High netters were eliminated from the team competition with a 6-1 setback to Booneville High School on April 12 in the third round of the Class 3A playoffs.
The lone win for Winona came in mixed doubles as Jemarius Sanders and Molly Tompkins claimed a 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 win.
In other matches, Kirven McCrory lost 0-6, 1-6 in boys’ singles, and Lilian Jones dropped a 0-6, 0-6 decision in girls singles. In No. 1 boys’ doubles, Jordan Leech and Gunner Wilkes fell 1-5, 2-6, and in No. 2 boys’ doubles, Eric Boone and Lucas Harper lost 1-6, 1-6.
In No. 1 girls’ doubles, Emma Marshall and Marlee Wilkes lost 1-6, 1-6. In No. 2 girls’ doubles, Lana Branch and Janey Beth McRae dropped a 3-6, 0-6 decision.
All of Winona's players advance to the state tournament, which is April 25-26 in Vicksburg.
