Two crews from Falcon Contracting Company began paving streets in downtown Winona on Monday, beginning with Summit Street, Carrollton Avenue and South Quitman Street.

A much needed facelift

Motorists traveling through downtown Winona must be mindful of their route since paving began on Monday.
“Actually, we marked it off last week,” said Mayor Aaron Dees, adding dotted lines were on Summit Street, Carrollton Avenue and South Quitman Street.
Dees said work will be completed on these streets first.

Lancaster leads in runoff

Allan D. “Devo” Lancaster leads in Montgomery County in the race for Circuit District 5 Place 2 Circuit Court Judge.
Lancaster secured 1,304 votes during the Nov. 28 runoff, and Doug Evans got 159, according to unofficial results compiled by Montgomery County Circuit Clerk Lanelle Martin.

While St. Jude Children’s Hospital raises funds to ensure free healthcare for patients, St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend is the highlight of the fundraising year.
