Webster arrested on federal charges

A Lexington man is facing federal charges after his July 13 arrest at the Carroll County Courthouse in Carrollton.
Tamarius Webster, 36, is facing federal weapons charges and was served with a federal indictment at the time of his arrest, according to a statement released by Sheriff Clint Walker.

County gets state and federal funding

Supervisors approved a memorandum of understanding to accept funding during a special called meeting on Wednesday to bring improvements throughout Carroll County.
They voted to accept $700,000 appropriated by the Mississippi Legislature, according to Board President Jim Neill.

Interim Police Chief Tim Gholston informed Mayor Al White and Board members the Duck Hill Police Department would be understaffed due to one officer undergoing a shift change at his full-time job.
