Carroll Academy head coach Bo Milton was greeted by 20 players during the first week of preseason football practice. Milton said the Rebels went just once a day.
“I thought the week went well and thought we had a good first week,” Milton said. “It’s not like we had a lot of new stuff going in, just fine tuning some things. Conditioning is going to be a key for us. With only 20 players, conditioning is going to be a key and our kids have to be mentally tough to hand that.”
Carroll Academy starts school on Thursday with a half day and go their first full day on Friday. On Friday, the Rebels will host Winston Academy in a scrimmage at 4 p.m.
“We are looking forward to scrimmaging,” Milton said. “Just looking forward to upping the intensity level and trying to be mistake free as possible. There will be no special teams so we can concentrate on offense and defense.”
The Rebels will play at the Tri-County jamboree on Thursday, Aug. 16 when they play Newton at 3:30 p.m. and Central Hinds at 5 p.m. The Rebels kick off the regular season on Aug. 23 against Kirk Academy.
