The Carroll Academy basketball teams finished the regular season in fine fashion as they hammered Benton on Monday.
The Lady Rebels started out the night with a convincing 55-23 win while the Rebels capped off the night with a 67-49 won.
The Carroll Academy boys finished as the No. 4 seed in District 1-AA and will take on No. 5 seed Winona on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with the winner getting top-seeded Marshall on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
On the girls side, the Lady Rebels finished as the No. 2 seed and will play Thursday at 7 p.m. against No. 3 seed Central Holmes. If the Lady Rebels win on Thursday, they will play in the championship game on Saturday at 5 p.m. Marshall was the No. 1 seed in the district.

Carroll was dominant in the contest as they jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first period. After outscoring Benton 13-11 in the second, Carroll led 29-16 at the half. The Lady Rebels continued to extend its lead in the second half as they outscored the Lady Raiders 13-4 in the third and 13-3 in the fourth.
Caroline Mumme led Carroll with 15 points and six steals. Belle Sanders had 11 points while Kalie Teal, Sandy Rhea Tackett and Gracie Turner each had eight points apiece. Turner also had eight rebounds while Teal pulled down seven rebounds.
Rebels
The Rebels broke open a close game in the third period and took an 18-point win over the Raiders.
Carroll jumped out to a 25-18 lead in the first period but Benton fought back and outscored the Rebels 11-6 in the second to cut the lead to 31-29 at the half. But that was as close as Benton got as the Rebels outscored the Raiders 23-8 in the third to take command of the game.
Senior Michael O’Brien had a big night as he pumped in 26 points while Reese Fulton had 24 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Austin Smith had five points and nine rebounds while senior Jacob Cutts had three points.
