It was another tough week on the hardwoods for Winona Christian as they were swept in doubleheaders by Central Holmes and Marshall last week.
Against Central Holmes, the Lady Stars lost 46-32 while the boys fell 45-19.
Against Marshall, the Stars lost 63-40 while the Lady Stars lost as well.
The Winona girls finished as the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will take on No. 4 seed Oak Hill on Tuesday. The two teams split in the regular season, playing twice in the same week with Oak Hill taking a 58-43 win and Winona taking a 47-35 win.
On the boys side, Winona was also the No. 5 seed and were to take on host Carroll on Tuesday. The two teams also split games in the regular season as each team won on their home court.
In boys actin Marshall outscored Winona in every period as they handed the Stars a 23-point loss.
The Patriots jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first period and led 29-17 at the half. The Patriots continued to extend the lead in the second half as they outscored the Stars 17-11 in the third and 17-12 in the fourth.
Shaw Ferguson was the only Winona Christian player in double digits as he had 17 points while Latham Hill had nine points. Austin Huggins and Wyatt Chambley each had five points apiece.
The Stars struggled from the field as they dropped a 26-point decision to the Trojans of CHA 45-19.
Central Holmes jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first period and led 20-6 at the half. The Trojans continued to extend the lead in the second half as they outscored Winona 12-6 in the third and 13-7 in the fourth.
Latham Hill led Winona with six points while Austin Huggins had four points.
Lady Stars
Central Holmes used big advantages in the second and third periods to take a 14-point win over the Lady Stars, 46-32.
Central Holmes led just 14-12 at the end of the first period but outscored the Lady Stars 13-4 in the second to lead 27-16 at the half. The Lady Trojans put the game away in the third period as they outscored Winona 17-5 to take a 44-21 lead into the fourth.
Ashlyn Bloom led Winona with 13 points while Sara White had 11 points.
