With a full team back, the Carroll Academy boys flexed their muscles this past week with three wins, including a pair of district victories.
The Rebels beat Benton 60-45 on Monday, Winona Christian 70-44 on Tuesday and then beat Central Holmes 59-23 on Friday.
The Lady Rebels won two out of their three games, beating Benton 47-32, Winona Christian 38-28 but falling to Central Holmes 51-37.
Carroll will be off this week and will return to action on Friday, Dec. 27 and Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Columbus Christmas Tournament.
Carroll boys 70, Winona Christian 44
The Rebels put three players in double digits in scoring and took a 26-point win over the Stars in a key district contest last week.
Carroll jumped out to an 18-11 lead in the first period and outscored the Stars 14-8 in the second to lead 32-19 at the half. Carroll took the third period 13-12 to lead 45-31 and finished off by outscoring Winona 25-13 to take the win.
Reese Fulton led Carroll with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Logan Taylor had 17 points and seven assists. Austin Smith had 16 points and eight rebounds.
Reed Roberts led Winona with a game-high 29 points while Latham Hill added six points.
Carroll girls 38, Winona Christian 28
The Lady Rebels pulled away in the second half and used a big third period to take a 10-point win over the Lady Stars.
Winona led 3-2 at the end of the first and 13-10 at the half. But Carroll got in gear in the third, outscoring Winona 16-5 in the third to lead 26-18. Carroll took the fourth period 12-10 to take the win.
Dru Chamblee led Carroll with 12 points and four steals while Gracie Turner added 10 points and five steals. Mary Jordan Milton also had five rebounds while Mary Lakyn Boutwell added four rebounds and four steals.
Bella Roberts led Winona with 18 points.
Carroll boys 59, Central Holmes 23
The Rebels overcame a slow start and took a 36-point win over the Trojans in another district contest.
Carroll led 9-2 at the end of the first and outscored Central Holmes 18-7 in the second to take a 27-9 lead at the half. The Rebels kept rolling in the third as they outscored the Trojans 23-9 in the third and 9-5 in the fourth.
Logan Taylor led Carroll with 24 points and nine rebounds while Reese Fulton had another double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Austin Smith added seven points while Brett Harper added six points.
Central Holmes girls 51, Carroll 37
Each team scored six points in the first period before Central Holmes outscored Carroll 21-8 in the second to lead 27-14 at the half. Central Holmes took the third period 12-10 to lead 39-24 going into the fourth.
Gracie Turner led Carroll with 10 points and six rebounds while Kaitlyn Chamblee had nine points. Mary Jordan Milton had eight points and eight rebounds.
Carroll boys 60, Benton 45
After a tight first period, the Rebels pulled away and took a 15-point win over the Raiders.
Carroll led 11-10 at the end of the first and 26-20 at the half. Carroll outscored Benton 15-14 in the third and 19-11 in the fourth for the final margin.
Reese Fulton had another big game as he scored 26 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. Logan Taylor had 17 points and six assists while Austin Taylor had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Carroll girls 47, Benton 32
The Lady Rebels used a big second period to take a 15-point win over the Lady Raiders.
Carroll led 15-9 and 27-12 at the half. Carroll outscored Benton 11-9 in the third to lead 38-21 going to the fourth.
Dru Chamblee led Carroll with 16 points while Gracie Turner had 10 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals. Mary Jordan Milton had six points and four steals while Lainey Claire Dunn chipped in six points.
