In the two games they got to play last week, Carroll swept Central Holmes but dropped both games to Marshall.
Against Central Holmes, the Rebels got a late free throw from Morgan Mims to take a 36-35 win while the Lady Rebels took a 37-24 win.
It wasn’t as good against Marshall as the Lady Patriots took a 38-34 win while the Patriots took a 64-27 win.
Carroll was set to return to action at home against Oak Hill on Tuesday and will travel to Marshall on Friday.
The Rebels got the game-winner against Central Holmes in a contest that was tight throughout.
The Rebels led 10-7 at the end of the first and 18-16 at the half. But Central Holmes took the advantage in the second half as they outscored Carroll 14-11 to take a 30-29 lead into the fourth period.
The game went down to the wire as Morgan Mims was fouled with 3.7 seconds left in the game with the score tied at 35. Mims made the first free throw but missed the second to take a one-point lead. Central Holmes threw a long inbound pass the length of the court, but Logan Neal intercepted the pass to seal the win for the Rebels.
Reese Fulton had another double-double as he pumped in 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Logan Taylor had 12 points and six rebounds while Michael O’Brien added five points.
Marshall outscored the Rebels in every period and took a 37-point win.
Marshall led 14-4 at the end of the first and outscored Carroll 24-4 in the second to lead 38-8 at the half. Marshall outscored Carroll 13-10 in the third and 13-9 in the fourth for the final margin.
Fulton led Carroll with 18 points and six rebounds while Jacob Cutts had seven points and five rebounds.
Lady Rebels
The Lady Rebels jumped out to a big lead in the first period and never looked back as they took a 37-24 league win over Central Holmes.
Carroll jumped out to a 10-1 lead at the end of the first and led 16-11 at the half. The Lady Rebels pulled away in the third period as they outscored Central Holmes 11-3 to take a 27-14 lead at the half.
Caroline Mumme led Carroll with 15 points, six rebounds, and five steals. Gracie Turner had seven points and nine rebounds while Sandy Rhea Tackett had six points and three steals. Belle Sanders also had three steals in the contest.
The Lady Rebels led early against Marshall, but a big third period propelled the Lady Patriots to the 38-34 win over CA.
Carroll led 13-8 at the end of the first, and the game was tied at 18 at the half. Marshall then pulled away in the third as they outscored Carroll 16-7 to take a 34-25 lead into the fourth.
Mumme led Carroll with 18 points whileTurner had eight points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Tackett also had five rebounds.
