The Carroll Academy Rebels were finally able to get on the basketball courts and came away with a pair of wins.
The Rebels beat Newton County Academy 44-27 on Tuesday to open the season and then pounded North Delta 58-27 on Thursday.
The Lady Rebels started the week off with a 51-35 loss to Starkville before beating Newton 47-35 on Tuesday. They finished the week off with a 66-40 loss to North Delta.
Carroll will return to action after the Thanksgiving break as they are set to host Canton on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and will host Kirk on Thursday to finish out the week.
Carroll girls 47, NCA 35
The Lady Rebels were able to build a double-digit lead in the first period and held that margin in the second half to take the win on Tuesday.
Carroll led 10-5 at the end of the first and outscored NCA 15-10 in the second to lead 25-15 at the half. NCA fought back in the third as they outscored Carroll 16-8 to cut the lead to 33-31. But Carroll pulled away in the fourth as they outscored NCA 14-4 in the fourth for the final margin.
Gracie Turner led Carroll with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Dru Chamblee had 16 points and five steals.
Carroll boys 44, NCA 27
The Generals fell behind early and the Rebels built a big lead to take a 17-point win.
Carroll led 6-4 at the end of the first an outscored NCA 10-3 in the second to lead 16-7 at the half. Carroll took the third period 16-7 to lead 32-14 going into the fourth. NCA outscored Carroll 13-12 in the fourth for the final margin.
Logan Taylor led Carroll with 14 points and nine assists while Austin Smith had 13 points and six rebounds. Reese Fulton ha eight points and 12 rebounds.
CA boys 58, North Delta 27
The Rebels had little trouble with the Wave as they took a 31-point win on Thursday.
Carroll jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first and then outscored North Delta 18-1 in the second to lead 35-6 at the half. Carroll outscored North Delta 13-10 in the third to lead 48-16 going into the fourth.
Reese Fulton led Carroll with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Logan Taylor had 18 points and 10 assists.
N. Delta girls 66, CA girls 40
The Lady Rebels dropped a 26-point decision to the Lady Wave on Thursday.
Gracie Turner had 13 points while Dru Chamblee had 10 points. Mary Jordan Milton and Lainey Claire Dunn each had six points apiece.
SA Girls 51, Carroll 35
The Lady Volunteers outscored the Lady Rebels in each of the first three periods to take a 16-point win on Monday.
Starkville led 14-8 at the end of the first and 32-18 at the half. Starkville outscored Carroll 15-8 in the third to lead 47-26 going into the fourth.
Gracie Turner led Carroll with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Dru Chamblee also had 10 points.
