The Winona Christian Stars will host area rival Carroll Academy Friday night at Stars Field in Winona for a conference match. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The Stars, currently 3-5 on the season, are coming off a loss to an undefeated Indianola Academy team last Friday, 42-14.
According to Head Coach Junior Graham, Choyce Diffey was the team Most Valuable Player following Friday’s game. Diffey scored on a 25-yard interception return in the second quarter. Holland Ingram followed with a successful two-point conversion run.
In the third quarter, Ingram put six more points on the board with a four-yard run. The conversion failed.
On offense, quarterback Shaw Ferguson was six of eight for 54 yards passing, and Ingram rushed for 58 yards on 11 carries and one touchdown. Diffey rushed for 61 yards on eight carries.
Defensively, in addition to the interception return for a touchdown, Diffey had eight tackles for the night.

The J.Z. George Jaguars fell to the Charleston Tigers 42-14 at Farris Jenkins Field in North Carrollton.
Nick Bruce and Montavis Jenkins both scored rushing touchdowns in the match.
The Jags, now 1-7 on the season, will travel to Humphreys Academy Friday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Montgomery County High School
The Montgomery County High School Hornets were defeated 50-0 by the Board Street Jaguars in a conference matchup last Friday in Kilmichael.
Hornet’s Head Coach Al Dotson said his Hornets are looking toward tomorrow’s matchup against Durant in Durant.
“Both are looking for their first victory,” Dotson said.
