CARROLLTON – The Carroll Academy Rebels fell to the Marshall Academy Patriots, 34-14, last Friday night at Gordon Field in Carrollton.
Carroll Head Football Coach Bo Milton said his Rebels battled through the entire contest.
“We played hard for four quarters,” Milton said. “We just made too many mistakes against a good team. As long as, they play hard, I’m always proud.”
The Rebels got on the board in the first quarter with a 44-yard run by Colby Holly. However, the Patriots were up by two scores at the half.
In the fourth, Morgan Mims threw an 18-yard pass to Noah Collier for the touchdown, followed by a Holly PAT.
On the night, Holly had 95 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. Mims had 66 yards on 11 carries on the ground and 12 for 18 for 102 yards in the air.
On the defense, Logan Hodges had six tackles and an interception, and Jacob Randall had an interception.
The Rebels will travel to Winona Christian for a conference matchup Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
