WHS, JZG post volleyball victories

The Winona High School girls volleyball team pulled off three wins in matches played last week.
The Lady Tigers started the week with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Noxubee County Tuesday in Region 4-3A action.

Not sure anyone expected the ending last Saturday night in Starkville as the Mississippi State Bulldogs scored with 30 seconds to play to upset No. 12 Arizona State, 24-20. Blake Shapen threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to Brenen Thompson for the winning score.

CA drops 11-0 decision

Carroll Academy’s girls fastpitch softball team dropped an 11-0 decision to Oak Hill Academy last Tuesday to fall to 3-10 overall.
The Lady Raiders scored two runs in the first, four runs each in the second and sixth innings and one in the fifth.
